Mini sessions Part 2 I Santa Fe Family photographer

I LOVE photographing these two families, who also happen to be very good friends with each other. These two sessions were supposed to be kid sessions, but I managed to get some of mom in both. THANK YOU ladies for humoring me! And, for coming back! Watching your families grow is such a joy. Both families have gained another blue eyed boy within the last year in a half-so things are about to get busy!!! Here are a few of my favorites from their sessions. xo

Mini sessions Part 1 I Santa Fe Family photographer

It has been quite a while,  2 years to be exact-ish, since I have put up a blog post. It is no secret that I am much more of a visual person than a word person, but I also have been very busy with our latest project, sweet Nina girl. As she approaches 2, and the big kids are in school full time, I am finding more time for doing this photo thing which I love. And I mean really, can you blame me? Look at this cuteness, would you get anything done?

These are the first of my mini sessions this past fall for returning clients. They are shorter sessions and are meant to be an update closer to the holidays. I cherish all of these families and as cheesy as it sounds, LOVE watching them grow. Enjoy~

The Broken Spoke Bike Shop. Santa Fe Business Photographer.

I had the pleasure of making some portraits with Mike Chapman, owner and founder of The Broken Spoke, and his team last week. I love small businesses, especially family run businesses and the Chapman family is one of my faves! (As you can imagine both Chapman kids were riding 2 wheels practically at birth!) Mike opened Broken Spoke 6 years ago over on 2nd street and quickly grew the business necessitating a move to their current location on Cerrillos (which also expanded last spring!) Beyond carrying brands such as Devinci, Kona, Yeti, Jamis, Linus and Surly they also are pro mechanics and have Santa Fe’s largest collection of used bicycles AND they just happen to be really nice guys. Tonight is their annual Holiday Party (read: good beer), it starts at 5pm-I hope to see you there!

Cynthia Jones Jewelry fine handmade jewelry featured. Santa Fe Business Photographer.

It’s a big weekend in Santa Fe for local shops and galleries as bazaars and markets abound. I love supporting local artists and business owners (especially mama’s!)-and this weekend there are LOTS!

Today I’d like to feature my dear friend Cynthia Jones who is showing at 2 different places. Today she is at 508 Gallery until 7 (stop in after work!!!) and Sunday she will be at the Holiday Shopping Bazaar at the Santa Fe School of Cooking which is raising money for the Food Depot. Get your tickets for that one here. I am sure it is no surprise I am a HUGE fan of CJJ’s gorgeous handmade (here in Santa Fe) jewelry, as you may have seen a few images of her beautiful creations from our past collaborations here or on my Instagram. New Mexico Spring Break. Santa Fe Photographer & Designer.

It’s spring break Santa Fe, and the temps are over 70 degrees today!!! I know you thought you didn’t need to go anywhere but I’m guessing now that it’s Thursday, the kids are biting at your heels, and with all those beach photos on Facebook, you are wishing you were somewhere other than here. Last minute road trip, anyone? Not sure if you all know that I moonlight as a magazine designer but I had the pleasure of Art Directing New Mexico Magazine’s Vacation Guide last fall. Having lived in Santa Fe for a while, I was completely floored with all of the things I have not yet seen in New Mexico. Chaco Canyon, the Carlsbad Caverns, Shiprock… and the eats, OH THE EATS! If you are looking for last minute ideas on places to go, download the ap to the guide here IT’S FREE. And don’t worry if you don’t have the gusto, there is always the arroyo. Just pretend you are on a beach… there was water in it today!

Outtakes below from a shoot in the arroyo for New Mexico Magazine last fall.  xo
